Video conferencing solutions
These are systems that allow a group of people to communicate and collaborate with each other remotely. They are usually installed in meeting rooms. The most important elements of video conferencing systems are the screen, camera, microphones and speakers.
Video conferencing systems can be divided into three categories based on the size of the meeting room: designed for small meeting rooms (4–6 seats), medium meeting rooms (8–12 seats) and large meeting rooms (16+ seats). In small meeting rooms, the biggest challenges come from the fact that the camera is usually quite close to the people participating in the conference, so it has to have a wide viewing angle.
Small meeting rooms can only accommodate small tables, so it is a good idea to choose a system that saves space on the table by integrating all the elements necessary for a conference call (cameras, microphones and speakers) in one device installed under the room’s screen.
For medium to large meeting rooms, microphones and speakers often cannot be integrated into one device due to the distances and large format screens; in this case, the speakers are mounted near the screen and the microphones are left on the tables or mounted on the ceiling.
In larger meeting rooms, conference tables often have non-standard shapes, so choosing the right amount of microphones and their placement is perhaps the most important part of the project.
To ensure that the video conference calls go smoothly, especially in medium and large meeting rooms, dedicated room systems are used, and there is a desktop controller with a touch screen to control the call. With a solution like this, a laptop and a personal video conferencing platform account are not necessary to make a call.
