LED displays

LED displays are divided into two categories: indoor and outdoor. The brightness of indoor displays is from 600 to 1500 nits, and from 2,000 to 6,000 nits for outdoor displays. In addition, outdoor LED displays are water resistant.

When it comes to LED screens, the main parameter is the pixel pitch – the centre-to-centre distance between two pixels. Higher pixel pitch results in lower resolution and a grainier image quality. These displays are designed to be viewed from farther away, so that the eye sees the entire screen as a single image rather than as individual dots.

For outdoor displays, the pixel pitch is usually between 2.6 and 16 mm, and for indoor displays it is usually between 1.2 and 4 mm. Recently, MicroLED displays with extremely low pixel pitch and extremely high resolution have become very popular. The pixel pitch on these displays is no more than 1.2 mm, so they provide an extremely large and bright image. It is for these reasons that MicroLED screens are the optimal solution when updating meeting rooms or hotel lobbies.

LED displays can also be “transparent”. During the day, they partially allow light to pass through, so they are less conspicuous than conventional displays. They are usually used in window displays or for lighting façades.
