Discussion and simultaneous interpretation systems

Discussion systems consist of a central unit and desktop consoles with microphones. The latter, depending on the venue, can be wireless, built into the surface of the table or placed on the table.

Discussion systems have both discussion and voting features. This means that each participant’s console can have an identification card or fingerprint scan and special buttons for voting. In new-generation consoles, the buttons are replaced by touch screens, which not only perform the functions of conventional discussion consoles, but also come with new possibilities. For example, screens with integrated cameras allow participants to join video conferences and view documents and other visual material.

At large-scale events and discussions that have participants from different countries, simultaneous interpretation systems are used as well. Professional interpreters sit in a closed booth, where they listen to the speaker on headphones and translate the speech synchronously into the corresponding foreign language. Meanwhile, the participants can listen to the speech in real time in a language they understand using headphones connected to the simultaneous interpretation receivers. These two systems ensure smooth communication and mutual understanding for all participants in the discussion.

In order to ensure that the event can be viewed by remote participants, and that the event itself is broadcast and recorded, Lantel can offer a useful solution – motion-controlled cameras that are installed in the meeting room to follow the participants speaking and transmit the visual to the recording/broadcasting device. In this way, every participant who speaks in the discussion can be seen in the video, and the audience, if necessary, can also view the presentation slides during the broadcast recording.
